Firefighters Dan Doyle and Paul Cate have ended their service with the Fire Department. Dan resigned as of September 30 with 17 years of service and was a member of our truck maintenance committee. Paul retired after 29 years of service and was a former officer and instrumental in getting our 6x6 into service. Both of the men will be missed by the Department and we wish them both well. They will be recognized at a later date.
 
Replacing Dan and Paul are new recruits Brad Hageman and Duane Schlimgen who will be probationary firefighters for the next year and will attend training as soon as a new class opens.

July 3, 2007
Dan Endres has been selected to replace retired Firefighter John Baumgartner. Dan, along with Michelle Eichelkraut and Brian Hollis will begin Basic Firefighter classes on August 15 2007.

June 21, 2007
John Baumgartner retired from active service as of May 31, 2007. John was a member of the Department for 32 years and was currently working on our Support Trailer remodeling and was a lead person at our Annual Fish Boil.
 
We all thank John for his many years of dedicated service. John and fellow retiree John Beil will be honored at the June 25 fire meeting and will receive their Department retirement gifts.

Two of our Firefighters have retired in recent months, Ken Bauman with 20 years of service and John Beil with 25 years of service.
 
Ken was honored at the Departments yearly Christmas Party and John, who retired at the end of March 2007 will be honored at a future date. The Department thanks both of the men for their service to the Department and the Community.
 
Replacing these two retirees are Michelle Eichelkraut and Brian Hollis who will be probationary firefighters for the next 12 months. Michelle has the distinction of being Belleville's first female firefighter. Both are awaiting entry into Firefighter training classes.
